Description
A Postdoc position is available in a multidisciplinary virology laboratory in the Department of Microbiology at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The focus of the laboratory is to study how the oncogenic DNA tumor viruses such as human papillomavirus (HPV) and Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCV) interact with their host cells to cause cancer. Various projects are available, involving studies of 1) the antiviral strategies to abrogate the HPV-host interaction, 2) MCV oncogenic mechanism, and 3) DNA tumor viruses and host immune responses.
Qualifications
We are seeking creative and highly motivated individuals capable of executing research independently. A strong background in biochemistry, cell biology, or virology is desirable. We encourage individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, and individuals from socially, culturally, economically, or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds to apply.
