version that could be used as an introductory text or for

An introductory text clearly benefits from the
5 i+ k" [( ?* Lcoherence provided by a single author, but suffers from V$ {: I. ]& j- H( D1 T: ~4 O
the finite expertise of any single researcher. Therefore, a
5 W; p g1 i5 ^) I$ }4 ~compromise was devised, in which each chapter was coauthored
& c; }! ?* A( I! @by an expert in the specific area under consideration.
' p( a9 v' b. X# ]2 `This strategy was facilitated by the successful0 p5 X/ {, E P& P* q
collaborations that had been developed during the* A; O/ }$ K% i5 G% K+ ~4 F+ I

references published through to June, 2006.
